WSIB Operational Policy Update for the Province of Ontario
We have completed our review of the feedback received with respect to the noise-induced hearing loss consultation, held from November 10, 2025, to January 30, 2026. Thank you to everyone who provided input. The feedback helped inform revisions to the policy.
On September 9, 2026, our Noise-Induced Hearing Loss policy consultation was updated with a consultation summary report. This report includes background on the policy, an overview of the consultation process, a summary of the key themes we heard from stakeholders, and our responses.
Our Policy updates/clarifications was also updated with an advance posting of the following operational policy:
- Occupational Noise-Induced Hearing Loss On/After January 2, 1990 (16-01-04)
The updated policy takes effect on October 7, 2026. We are providing an advance copy so people can review the changes and prepare accordingly.
As a reminder, the nine independent living benefits policies that were advance posted on June 25, 2026, will take effect on September 21, 2026, alongside seven related housekeeping policy updates.
